20 Jun 2014

Taipei June 14 - More than 8,000 people in Batman T-Shirts, cape and masks gathered at Dajia Riverside Park on Saturday to participate in the 5-km Batman Night Run, in honor of the Caped Crusader’s 75th Anniversary.

This is the first ever Batman race in Taiwan and attracted participants, young and old alike, dressed up as their favorite Gotham Hero. They were able to select their favorite tee shirt based on design inspired by Batman Comic, The Dark Knight Rises, Batman N52 and Batman 1966 Classic Television Series.

The Batman Night Run officially kicked off at 18:25 with Group A Heroes decked out in their Batman comic tees. Key highlights include 5 Harley Davidson motorbike riders flagging off each Group (differentiated by their attire) at 5-minutes interval and participants passing through an enclosed black tent enclosure where Batman emblem was reviewed. Whilst running or strolling in the breezy Taipei evening,  participants also had the chance to take pictures with the various Batman exhibits or collect their Batman event stamps throughout the 5km route.

At 20:30, all participants then gathered at the stage area to witness the Batman emblem lighting ceremony, which clearly touched the hearts of every Batman fan at the event. They were also treated to a dance performance by World Gym, and what better way to end the memorable night with a lucky draw, courtesy of our event sponsors.
